In September, my friend and I embarked on a short weekend trip to Berlin. Catching the earliest flight on Saturday morning meant leaving during the night, but it also allowed us to arrive bright and early, ready to dive into the city.
The primary reason for our trip was the Lollapalooza Festival at the historic Berlin Olympic Stadium. After dropping our bags at the hotel, we set out for brunch. With my milk allergy and my friend being vegan, we were delighted by Berlin’s abundance of vegan cafés. A big, tasty brunch fueled us for the day ahead. Back at the hotel, we checked in, took a refreshing shower, and rested before heading to the festival.
The first night at Lollapalooza was fantastic, with incredible food, music, and energy. By 9 PM, we returned to the hotel, eager to recharge for the next day. Sunday began with a relaxing breakfast at another vegan gem before heading back to the stadium. The highlight of the day—and the trip for me—was seeing Seventeen, my favorite K-pop band, live. Their performance was everything I’d hoped for and more, and the night ended on a high as we sang and danced to “Very Nice.”
On Monday, our final day, we explored Berlin’s inner city. We visited iconic landmarks such as the Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, and the Reichstag, soaking in the rich history and culture.
Berlin proved to be a city with so much to offer, from its vibrant music scene to its accommodating vegan dining options. It was the perfect weekend getaway—one filled with unforgettable memories, cultural exploration, and, of course, amazing music.
